Slab rollers are the work horse tool for the serious handbuilder, allowing for the repetitive production of compressed sheets of clay known as slabs. With it's uniform clay compression and adjustable thickness settings, a slab roller is a labor saving gem whether you are constructing a one of a kind handbuilt sculpture or mass producing a line of tiles. NORTH STAR
All North Star machines have two rolls, much like the wringer of an old fashion washing machine with vertical adjustment knobs that give an easy-to-use and infinitely adjustable thickness from paper thin to over 2". Slabs can be rolled in either direction and clay can be added or subtracted at any time. The length of the slab is limited only by space and canvas available. No clumsy, heavy shims or boards needed and no chains, cables or cast iron gears that will need to be replaced. All standard series slab rollers have rolls 2 1/2" in diameter made of cast and machined high strength alloy aluminum. All standard slab roller packages have 48" long tables made of powder coated 14-guage steel with the roller located in the center of the table.

An essential tool for production and hand-building, Brent slab rollers produce smooth, even slabs of clay, are constructed of heavy gauge steel and are built to provide years of service. The roller moves over the bed through a double cable system and is aligned with vee rollers running on angle tracks. The bed is made of a stack of masonite shims which can be removed or added to vary the thickness. All Brent slab rollers have a one year warranty.
