Overglazes are design elements that are applied over previously fired glazes and mature in the range of 1252° F (cone 019) to 1319° F (cone 018). This group of products include lustres, mother-of-pearl, china paints and semi-moist overglazes. They are designed to be used in a third firing due to the low-temperature requirements. Make sure that the glazes you are applying them on are overglaze compatible.
NOTE TO TABLEWARE PRODUCERS All finished dinnerware products must be tested and approved as food safe by a certified laboratory due to possible variations in firing temperatures and possible contamination.
